The Hotel Pelirocco - Is This England's Sexiest Hotel?

Depending on whom you ask Brighton's Hotel Pelirocco is either entertaining and enjoyable - or utterly ridiculous and riddled with clichés. One thing that everybody can agree upon, though, is that it is one of the best known Brighton hotels and it definitely makes a lasting impression. Located on Regency Square in Brighton Beach, the Hotel Pelirocco is a townhouse bed and breakfast establishment. Many of its nineteen rooms are specially designed to feature edgy, sexy - and outrageous - themes. The key here is sex and rock 'n roll; the hotel aims to riff off of Brighton's saucy past, and if kitsch is your thing then you'll probably absolutely adore this one-of-a-kind Brighton hotel.

A Private Playground

The Hotel Pelirocco is most notorious for its sex-themed rooms. Couples looking for a bit of naughty fun, for instance, often choose to stay in the "Play Room." The Play Room is geared toward a debauchery filled "dirty weekend." A circular bed and mirrors on the ceiling definitely feed into that image. No other Brighton hotels can boast this kind of envelope-pushing decor, although much of it is admittedly tongue-in-cheek. If you and your mate are a bit on the bawdy side, then you'll absolutely love this over the top room at the Hotel Pelirocco; shy folks should probably steer clear, though.

Pinup Paradise

Continuing its sex-fuelled decorating scheme, the Hotel Pelirocco features a handful of rooms that revolve around various sex goddesses and pinups. "Betty's Boudoir," for example, is entirely dedicated to Hollywood siren Betty Page. It's undoubtedly one of the more popular rooms at this hotel Brighton, mixing nostalgia with a bit of sexual playfulness. The "Pin Up Parlour" is another keen choice. It is modelled after famous sex symbol Diana Dors and invites people to reflect on the naughty-but-nice aura that surrounds such pin ups. It's hard not to have a good time in such a room, and few Brighton hotels can come close to offering this sort of campy fun.

A Brighton Hotel With A Punk Rock Edge

We're all familiar with the iconic cover of the Sex Pistols' ransom-note style record; Jamie Reid was behind that unforgettable look, and the same artist is behind the Hotel Pelirocco's "Jamie Reid's Magic Room." The "Pressure Sounds" room offers a Jamaican and reggae-filled twist, while the "Rough Trade Rough Nite" suite is modelled after West London's Rough Trade Record Shop. These punk rock and music themed rooms offer a nice juxtaposition to the sex-themed rooms, offering a cool option for those not fond of boudoir design. Whether you genuinely enjoy the style at the Hotel Pelirocco - or whether you think it all a bit cheesy - you have to admit that it may be the most unique hotel in Brighton.
